White Truffle Garlic Bread at North Italia Austin

By  |

I hope you love to eat because today I’m sharing with you one of the yummiest restaurants in Austin. North Italia is one of hubby and I’s favorite restaurants. He loves Italian as so do I (along with Japanese, Mexican, Jamaican, Puerto Rican/Dominican–so many options!) and this place takes us where we want to be every time.

On our first visit we couldn’t stop obsessing over their White Truffle Garlic Bread topped with house made ricotta, mozzarella, grana padano, and herbs. One word: heavenly. I put my husband on to truffle oil when we first met and now he looks for it everywhere we go! If you’ve never tried anything with that deliciousness–it’s a must. Start with some fries and work your way up!

What I like about North Italia is that every time I eat there I leave feeling full yet light. Even their tomato soup (I’m tomato obsessed!) is hearty but not too much. The dishes are perfectly portioned, just enough food to make you satisfied and with room left over for dessert. The overly stuffed feeling is no fun! Especially if you want to do some swanky shopping after. 😉

On another one of our visits we tried new dishes. Which we aren’t afraid to do, seeing that North Italia has built trust with us. You know some restaurants are good, but only for that one dish you like right? Well aside from the truffle garlic bread as a constant we love to try new things there.

This time around I had the Heirloom Tomato salad with romaine, avocado, sweet corn, marcona almonds, pecorino, and basil vinaigrette. Like I said, I’m obsessed with tomatoes and this salad did the job for my palette with the sweetness of the corn and kick of basil from the dressing.

My hubby had the Chicken Parmesan with crushed tomato, aged provolone, mozzarella and parmesan rigatoni on the side. Let me just say, I tasted the pasta AND. IT. WAS. SO. BOMB! That sauce was everything cheese should be. So soft, buttery, and cheesy, but again–light. 🙂

Not only is the food delicious at North Italia restaurant but the ambiance is low key. Even when it’s busy it has a relaxed vibe. We love the covered (Texas is HOT) outdoor seating area at The Domain in Austin. It has the perfect view for people watching shoppers.

You can check out North Italia’s other locations and menus online. And as I mentioned above, do yourself a favor and get the truffle garlic bread. 😛
