Shoe Trend: Mixed Metals
I’ve been wanting to do a post on mixed metals for a while now. It’s one of my favorite things to do with jewelry, yet something I haven’t ventured into as far as shoes are concerned. I realized, when brought over to shoes, the concept is that much more convenient. Like a nude or black shoe, it goes well with absolutely anything and takes any look up a notch.
Some women don’t like to mix their metals and might even go as far as to consider it tacky. I personally deem it super swankster and fun! I’m an aficionado of silver but agree that gold simply goes so well with a ton of looks. At times, I can’t choose between the two or I can’t help but notice my handbag’s hardware or even the buckle/strap on a shoe is that of a different metal. That is why I usually have a mixed metal ring or bracelet handy to bring it all together.
Now, I’ve seen many designers explore the idea and I thought I would share with you swanksters the best of the bunch. From gold to pewter to silver to rose gold to bronze to gold to copper…you get the point. You will notice the stand out star, giving this trend much justice, is Giuseppe Zanotti.
Please leave a comment below on your thoughts regarding mixing metals and be sure to let me know which of these styles you see yourself rocking.
Enjoy and God bless!
