Swanky Shoe Pick: Sophia Webster
While on Instagram, I recently came across the swanksterness that is Sophia Webster. At first I wasn’t too sure about some of the designs, but as I continued to browse the collection, I was pleasantly charmed. It reminded me of a vribrant and funkier Tabitha Simmons, yet very Manolo Blahnik meets Charlotte Olympia–if that makes any sense. As I dug a little deeper I found it interesting that Sophia was formerly design assistant to the creative Nicholas Kirkwood. Now it all makes sense! Major props to her!
I was very impressed by the array of beautiful options in both collections, however these Blake leopard leather and mesh tie sandals especially stood out to me. It’s a very cleaner take on the leopard trend. They are available in a turquoise, black, and red as well as a bright orange and blue. What I like most about this style is that anything goes, they look comfortable at 4″, and are boldly neutral ( I love oxymorons!). Personally, I would pair them with a frill skirt, a tangerine orange or emerald green blouse, and a sequin vest.
With her line debuting in SS13 and the AW13 already up on her site, I’m very much looking forward to seeing more from Sophia Webster.
What do you swanksters think about this up and coming swanky shoe designer? Do share.
Enjoy and God bless!
