OOTD: Metallic, Glitter, and Art After Dark
For a while I didn’t understand art nor did I know what to make of it. It’s something I’ve learned to appreciate over time, especially with the help of trips to Europe. There the churches, the museums, and the architecture are all really fascinating.
The pivotal point for me was when I visited The Apollo Gallery at the Louvre (post on this same visit here). Back in those days they didn’t have TV, internet, iPads, or cameras so they found entertainment in looking at paintings and portraits which told a story. I now admire art for what the piece could mean to me and what the artist was possibly thinking of while creating it.
Now that my interests have changed from my young and wild days in NYC, I have to find alternate options to enjoy myself, especially with my husband. Since art is something I can now take pleasure in and also find inspiration from, I was delighted to find out Hawaii has a monthly event called Art After Dark held downtown at the Honolulu Museum of Art. It didn’t disappoint!
I was in a bit of a funky mood this day so I dressed accordingly. I had been looking forward to sporting a new pair of metallic silver shorts I got from one of my fave boutiques here in Honolulu, Hawaii and I was having a bad hair day so I decided on my fave fedora hat.
Breakdown of my OOTD:
- Nine West Hot List multi glitter sandals (buy here)
- Oxford Circus nude polka dot sequin blouse (from Bamboo Sky, but alternate options by Uniq, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and L’AGENCE)
- MINKPINK Blades of Glory silver metallic shorts (from Bamboo Sky, if sold out buy here)
- Dollar Tree fedora hat (alternate options by Brixton and Maison Michel)
