OOTD: Florals, Lace, and Boat Cruises

By  |

Not too long ago the hubby planned a very nice Navatek sunset dinner cruise in Honolulu. How sweet. Blessed me. Other than a chance at getting dressed up, I was excited to see Diamond Head from the sea and the skyline of Waikiki strip.

Then I came to the realization that I had to figure out a swanky outfit that could be cute and comfy for the warm weather yet able to withstand the wind and drop in temperature after the sun went down. It was too much for me to handle so I simply opted for something that made me feel great! I wanted to feel casually dolled up yet comfortable.

I decided on a pair of floral shorts, a lace top over a black tank top, Chloe sunglasses, gold jewelry, and last but certainly not least–patent nude pointy toe pumps by Boutique 9. You can see me rock these heels in another look on my Blogger Collaboration post I did with Michelle of CATWALKS & BABY BUMPS. Normally I would start my outfit with the pair of shoes but more and more I’m simply going for a look, figuring out what pieces will accomplish it, what shoe options I have to go with it and then cut them down to one.

The boat cruise was full of steak, lobster, live music, entertainment, and romance. I forgot to take something to combat sea sickness and along with suffering from cramps it was a bit of a battle. I stood my ground, rebuked, and declared I would enjoy our time together on this beautiful sunset evening. I simply prayed my way through it, and you better believe it was smooth sailing there on out for the rest of the ride. I’m a survivor. Praise God!

By the way, may I add how swankerific the hubster’s Gucci floral print loafers are? Swanky approved! 😉

What are your thoughts on floral prints? I for sure wasn’t a fan, but I’m very much into them as of late. To match the Gucci Flora Canvas Horsebit Loafers, check out some footwear options (click on photo for price and info):

I enjoyed this OOTD so much I had to get the Swank Squad together for a photo shoot. Take a look at the handful of amazing shots below.
